Personal Injury Attorneys, Michael Napolitano and Michael Serpico Obtain Multi-Million Dollar Settlement For Firefighterss

Michael Napolitano and Michael Serpico of Meyer Suozzi’s Personal Injury department, obtained a $2,855,000 settlement in action involving eight City of Newburgh firefighters who were injured while battling a fire at a cosmetic factory in New Windsor, NY in November 2017. An action was commenced alleging a General Municipal Law section 205(a) claim against the owner of the cosmetic factory, alleging various OSHA violations involving improper handling and grounding of containers used to handle flammable liquids and combustible waste. After litigating the matter for approximately 2 ½ years in Orange County Supreme Court, the matter was resolved at mediation.
