Continuing his long-standing support of the Jamaica Business Resource Center, on May 8, 2008, Litigation Department Chair Kevin Schlosser gave a presentation entitled “Legal Aspects of Contract Management and Key Issues Regarding Tort Law in the State of New York” to a group of minority contractors and construction professionals. The seminar was the culmination of an intensive training program known as the New York State Bonding Initiative. The program was sponsored by the Jamaica Business Resource Center, the Queens, Nassau, Suffolk Minority Business Enterprise Center, the Empire State Development Corporation, the Surety & Fidelity Association of America, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Minority Business Development Agency, and the New York State Insurance Department. Co-sponsors included the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the New York State Association of Minority Contractors and the Women Builder’s Council. The entire effort was spearheaded by Timothy Marshall, the President and CEO of the Jamaica Business Resource Center.
